How can i contact owner/caretaker of Tinaja Cemetery?
Hi Gloria – thank you for leaving a comment. I do not know who maintains control over this cemetery. As it is very isolated I am not sure it is even used any longer. The most recent burial was 1978. Best suggestion I have is contacting one of the mortuaries either in San Miguel county or Colfax county. In Colfax you could contact Alderette Pomeroy Mortuary. In San Miguel county (Las Vegas) you might try Rogers Mortuary
Sorry I can’t be more help.
Hi Cheryl — I was at Tinaja Cemetery today, and it is still an active cemetery, with the most recent burial from 2021.
Gloria,
Not sure who owns the land but the care has fallen on the descendants of those buried there. The most active family are the Romeros and the Archuletas.
