My name is Jody Doyle, a 15 yr resident of Albuquerque, NM. I was at Romero/ Sanchez Cemetery per the request of a Rosalie, who was looking for her grandmother Catalina Montoya- 1891-1955. I was unable to find Catalina, because very few makers were readable. Is it possible to obtain a complete list of Memorial ID#’s for Romero/ Sanchez Cemetery? I would also like to find out more on how to take steps in restoring Romero/ Sanchez Cemetery.

Hello Jody – This cemetery is quite small as I guess you found out when you visited. And like you, we did not find a marker for Catalina Montoya. Do you have a death certificate? What evidence do you have that she is buried here? Perhaps she is in another cemetery in town. If you can give me further information, I can check the records.
As to who ‘maintains’ or has a complete list, I do not think that exists. Every time I have stopped by this cemetery someone in the home (near Edith) pops out. I have actually been confronted a few times by the people that live there. They say it is ‘their’ cemetery and is private. As to whether they have a list I do not know. I think I have the most complete listing.
